Young artists come to the fore again with the arrival of Dolce & Gabbana's collection shown during Fashion Week 08. Hand painted creative designs worked on the fabrics before cutting, produced stunning vibrant and individually styled results.
Everything from heavy-handed daubs to slick sharp strokes was used. Patterns reminiscent of the 1950's giant canvases of Jackson Pollock, where strongly contrasting colours were dribbled and splattered, right through to present day themes like the 'graffiti' inspired images from urban artists.
No fabric was ignored in an attempt to provide artists with canvases to streak yellow, red, black and white paint in big emotional outbursts of inspirational art. The catwalk shimmered with all the freshness and vitality of the still-wet brushstrokes.

| This trend has driven sales of Koloron Art Fabric to new heights as schools emulate the new fashions. Koloron is the only fabric designed and manufactured especially to be painted on. Its construction provides a perfect paper-like surface with the strength of woven fabric. Koloron is no stranger to catwalk collections with two of the leading design houses working with the material over the past few years. |
